Why book the peninsula from the airport
Monterey has its own small airport, but most visitors land at SFO for the flight choice and face a two-hour drive south. Two hours is the wrong length for improvising: too far for a rideshare to find a willing driver at a fixed price, and long enough that a rental-car queue after a red-eye is the last thing anyone wants. A booked car is waiting at the curb, and the price was settled before you took off.
The peninsula's towns sit ten minutes apart, so the whole drive is the airport leg. Whether you are staying on Cannery Row, on Ocean Avenue in Carmel or inside the Pebble Beach gates, the car goes to the door.
How the peninsula is priced
Two flat rates. Monterey and Pacific Grove share one; Carmel-by-the-Sea and Pebble Beach share a second, a little higher for the extra twenty minutes past Monterey. Both are the same in either direction, published on the pages below as the seven-seat minivan fare — the entry car on these drives, with the premium SUV and the Black SUV priced in the booking flow — and the booking flow adds the SFO airport fee as its own line: the drive crosses no toll bridge.
There is no meter and no surge. Holiday traffic on 101 or a slow crawl through Salinas changes nothing about your price.
Your pickup at SFO
Add your flight number when you book and we track it. Collect your bags and step out to the arrivals curb at your terminal; we text the driver's name, car and plate before you land, and there is no waiting fee for a late flight. Departing, the driver drops you at the curb on the departures level of your terminal.
San Jose is on the way
Honest note: San Jose International (SJC) is about half an hour closer to Monterey than SFO. If your fare lands there, choose SJC as the pickup in the transfer form. Between SFO and SJC, book around the flight that suits you — the peninsula drive is the long part either way.

The town your hotel is in. Monterey, Seaside and Pacific Grove book from the Monterey page; Carmel-by-the-Sea has its own; Pebble Beach — inside the Del Monte Forest gates — has its own too. Can you also drive us from Monterey or Carmel back to SFO?
Yes, at the same price. Choose 'I'm going to the airport' in the booking form and enter your hotel as the pickup. Book each leg separately so each has its own pickup time and driver confirmation — and add the flight number on the return so the pickup time is set against the check-in your airline wants.
We are staying in Carmel Valley — is that the Carmel rate?
Not automatically. Carmel Valley Village is a further twelve miles inland from Carmel-by-the-Sea, so it has no published rate yet; type the address into the booking form and we confirm the fare personally before you commit.
